Person arrested after standoff in Union City neighborhood, police say

UNION CITY, Calif. (KGO) -- Police have taken a person into custody after surrounding them in an SUV in a Union City neighborhood Friday afternoon.

SKY7 was over the scene on E Street between Railroad Avenue and 11th Street.

After the person exited the SUV. police seem to have fired some kind of projectile, and we saw a police K-9 tackling the person to the ground.

Police then surrounded the person and put them onto a stretcher.

We do not know why police surrounded this person.

Police are asking people to avoid the area.
